Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy has been used for about 6,000 years for its health benefits, relaxation and mood enhancing properties.

Aromatherapy uses essential oils to improve psychological and physical well-being. Essential oils are concentrated oils made from flowers, petals, roots, seeds, fruit, barks of plants. Research show that aromatherapy can offer positive benefits in common problems like anxiety, stress, poor sleep and more.

Essential oils are very concentrated extracts from plants, used for thousands of years in alternative medicine, cosmetic and perfumery fields because of the curative potential for the body, mind and spirit. They modulate mental functions and act as mood enhancers. Scents work through the nervous system, having impact on our health, mood and general well-being. And let’s face it, we love fragrances and that’s the reason we buy perfumes! In fact, most perfumes are a unique blend of essential oils and other ingredients.

My kind of Zen - Ultrasonic diffuser

  1. Diffusion / Inhalation – When inhaled, the oils are absorbed via the lungs and circulated through the body, making use of their therapeutic benefits. They also work by sending messages to parts of the brain that coordinates mood and emotion, helping with relaxation.
  2. Topical Use / DIY Beauty Products – put them in your bath, use them for aromatherapy massage or other beauty products. When it comes to personal care and beauty, there are endless possibilities to enjoy the smell and properties of an essential oil. The easiest way is to add them to vegetable oils, creams, or bath gels. Since essential oils are very concentrated, only a few drops should be diluted in a carrier oil. Essential oils should never be applied directly to skin!
  3. DIY Home Products – to naturally scent your house, use in cleaning products, especially those oils that have antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, like tea tree or eucalyptus.
