2. Cool, sugarless tea
The tannin in tea is the active ingredient here, which helps to soothe and relieve some of the discomfort of sunburned skin. To soothe sunburn, allow a pot of tea to cool completely, then gently apply it to affected areas with a soft sponge or washcloth.
A spray bottle can also be used. Retain cooled teabags for a soothing compress on tired, hot eyes. For added relief, consider using St. John’s Wort tea due to its cooling and nerve-soothing properties.
